“I never feel stupid asking questions about my daddy’s death.”
~ Samantha
“I miss my mommy every day.”
~ Kimmy
Without the healing resources provided by The Solace Tree, local children like Samantha and Kimmy would not have felt equipped to deal with something so very grown up — the unthinkable loss of their parents.
But due to a significant decline in local families being able to pay for services offered by The Solace Tree, the non-profit is struggling to make ends meet, potentially limiting or even ending its ability to help other children in our community.
This is where we’re hoping you can step in.
We are seeking your help. Donations collected from this campaign will fund: • Scholarships for Camp Hope, a grief camp that teaches children coping techniques through play and camp activities
• Training (both volunteers and professionals such as social workers, counselors, nurses and others who help children and adolescents process grief)
• Arts and crafts supplies for sessions and camp experiences
• Educational resources
For more than a decade, The Solace Tree has helped children, teens and families who are struggling with the loss of a loved one by providing a safe place for them to express their feelings of grief. All told, thousands of local children, teens and families have walked in struggling — and walked out feeling empowered, more confident and better equipped to deal with their personal loss.
Please help us continue to help our community.
The Solace Tree receives no government funding. We are supported entirely by fees, private donations and professional training fees, and we rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations.
We don’t want to have to turn a single family in grief away; we know there are many more Samanthas and Kimmys out there, children looking for resources to help them cope through unspeakable tragedy. And we want to help.
Please donate any amount, and please share this with your friends and families via Facebook or any other social network.
And thank you for helping us make our community stronger!
