Our dog Sammy is 11 years old and he is so precious to our family.  He plays with our kids in the backyard all the time and goes on all of our family trips.

We noticed some dark spots on his face and feet that we hadn't seen before, so we took him to see his vet to be examined.  They ran several tests on him including complete blood work, and X-rays.  They also did a biopsy to be sure of the right diagnosis.  After all that, they told us he has a form of cancer - melanoma.

His treatment will consist of surgery to remove the growth, then they may need to do chemo also.  The doctors said we are looking at about $4,000 for the surgery alone, and the diagnosis was $400 .  If he needs chemo it will be an additional $1000-$2000.  These are extreme expenses for us, but he is a part of our family and we want to save Sammy!  He deserves the best medical treatment available.  If anyone would like to help us, we would greatly appreciate it!  Thank you.
