What are the important parts of racing? Well, I would imagine it goes something like this:
Well, so far I've got the go fast bits covered, but what is this shenanigans they call safety? Ultimately, this campaign is for the roll cage part of the safety spectrum. Though there are other factors, like fire-retardant clothing, a fire extinguisher, and probably a helmet would be good too.
Why do I need a roll cage? Because I want to race in the Virginia City Hill Climb. And while a cage isn't actually required to race, this video explains exceptionally well WHY I should probably have one.
Any little bit helps. The minimum amount I'd really need for materials and labor would be about $3,000. That would get a cage made out of DOM Steel with about 10 points. So, that's the minimum I'm trying to raise, depending on how much I raise, I might go up to a 14-point cage, and ultimately I'd rather use Chromoly instead of DOM Steel, for the weight savings, but money is the sole factor on that one. For reference, when I talk about points, that is how many points of the cage actually contact the body of the car.
So, you should donate, and keep your friendly, neighborhood Kenyon alive!
The first 10 people to donate $100 or more will get their names in vinyl form on my car!
