The Patan Durbar Square is home to more than 1200 monuments, rich in tradition and culture.  A huge tourist attraction for many years and is now a place full of rubble due to the April 25^th earthquake.  If you were there now, you would see huge piles of rubble, debris, and litter.  It now looks like a war zone, something you would see in a movie.

When I was younger, my father had taken me to this most amazing and beautiful place and told me all kinds of stories about the culture:  the stone, the art, the statues, the temples... All the old buildings, markets and rooftop cafes.  Now they don’t exist. 

My goal is to help rebuild Durbar Square.  I know this is a huge project, but if we come together, we can make a huge difference and hopefully one day restore the beauty that was once there.  I believe we must do this because they have lost most of their heritage monuments.  I don’t want Nepal to lose their culture and identity, especially their tourist economy.  This would devastate them even further.
