My name is Rachel and I am raising money to volunteer with Romanian orphans this fall.  When my youngest brother was a baby, he spent a lot of time in the hospital.  I decided then that I want to be a child life specialist and work with terminally ill children.  This January I have the opportunity to go to Romania with ILP, a non-profit organization that serves children in several different countries.  I chose to go to Romania specifically to assist, love, and bring hope to children who don't have families to provide them with those things.  Love makes a difference!!  Many of these orphans have developmental delays and/or other medical issues, as well.  I know this experience will help prepare me to better care for the children I will meet in my career.
