I have shared the good news with my group of ladies that we will be able to start our "companion dog" team soon! We are now working on getting the right dogs to do this service work with us - Please keep sharing our story and we will keep you updated on our progress too!
Hi! My name is Amanda and I have been taking my companion dog "Bella" into nursing homes for the past year to spend time with the patients there. You should see their faces light up when they see my dog! There is so much joy that comes from the pet interaction. My heart has really grown to love this and now I want to start a Pet Therapy "Companion" Team.
A group of us will take several dogs to different locations to spend time with people. The places we will visit are nursing homes, hospitals, hospice facilities, youth centers and schools for the handicap. I need to raise money to make this happen. Mostly for acquiring the right trained pets to take into these type of environments.
