Well... it's happening! We've secured a lease in a nice neighborhood for the girls! A great neighborhood in Damonte Ranch. A few more weeks left! Thank you to everyone that has contributed, this is such a great help.
#Mississippi2Nevada IS HAPPENING! We've been busy looking for places for the girls to stay, and (fingers crossed) have an application in for a rental. The girls are working hard packing. Thank you to everyone for your kind works and support. We truly appreciate your generosity.
After graduating High School, Diana left Reno to pursue her love of the Armed Forces and while in boot-camp, she found the love of her life. As a member of the United States Air Force, she got married and had 2 children, only to loose her job years later to a knee injury and shortly after, a brain tumor… immediate treatment and several brain surgeries later, she was forced to stay home to heal, also taking on her new role of stay at home mommy and wife. After 16 years of marriage, she's found herself on her own again, trying to pick up the pieces after her husband left her and her two girls.
Battling depression and the emotional and physical agony of the divorce and literally having nothing left… she realized it's time for a change!
Diana has made the decision to move herself (and her girls...and her dog... and her 2 cats) back to Reno to get her life back in order… a fresh start: Mississippi2Nevada!
Though having to relocate during critical childhood/teenage years is hard, the girls understand this is for the best and want to continue focusing on their studies (we have some straight A students on our hands) as well as their activities (ROTC, Cheer, Track, Girl Scouts) and meeting new friends!
As she tries to get back on her feet and the girls explore their new hometown, we ask for your help with any monetary donations to assist with their moving costs (boxes, moving truck, gas, 1st/last month's rent, deposit, uniforms for the girls' new schools… the list is endless, and frankly a bit overwhelming).
As you can imagine, it isn't easy to ask for help, but I just know we can count on our dear friends and this amazing community to 'help a sister out'. As a family, we are doing as much as we can and we're hopeful we can raise enough funds to at least alleviate some of the financial burden of moving across the country and starting over.
Please find it in your heart to make this difficult move a little easier for these girls. Thanking you in advance for your generosity and kindness, we are eternally grateful.
