Did you know that many public elementary schools don't have ART and MUSIC any longer!  Not unless these positions are paid for by the PTA.  Discovery Bay Elementary is one of those schools.  Every year we strive to raise enough money to pay the salaries for part-time art and music teachers.  In addition, we also raise money for the LIBRARIAN's salary and an additional "Yard Safety" person who helps keep our children safe when they are playing out on the play ground.  Without these funds our children would not have ART, MUSIC and LIBRARY.   The Discovery Bay PTA scrambles to raise up to $90,000 every year to pay for these salaries and other programs that enrich our children's lives.  (Lunch with Principal, Reading Club, etc.) There's only so many cookie dough sales you can do in a year!  Please help us raise the money we need to keep our children's school lives enriched with these great programs!
