Kenyon was amazing at so many things, but if he could be defined as one of his characteristics, most of us would define him as a fun loving, master jokester. Whether he was jumping out from behind of a tree, shaking his co-workers’ desks, hiding our wallets, or pounding on our door — just to smile, say hello, then you’d see him walk away proudly laughing at his accomplishment.
Other words that describe him well include a martial artist, an entrepreneur, a web developer, a programmer, a poet, a racer, a builder, an engineer, a son, a brother, and a friend to everyone he met.
One of his favorite and most impressive accomplishments was earning his black belt, of the first degree, in Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu. During his training he also taught classes at the gym for 3 years. But his passion for martial arts didn’t stop there. He continued training and encouraged others by hosting and teaching many self-defense classes. Kenyon was a brilliant mind who brought a level of precision to everything he touched.
Kenyon was homeschooled most of his life. He started college courses at the age of 13, after five years of teaching himself how to write code. He attended the University of Advanced Technology where he majored in Technology Forensics. Kenyon worked as a computer engineer at TnB Enterprises in Reno, where he further sharpened his development skills. He then founded KH2 Studios, a digital agency with a focus on web development. Afterwards he accepted a position as the chief technology officer for Move Your Mountain, a crowdfunding website. His latest position was as a lead developer at KPS3 in Reno. Kenyon built stunning websites and apps in his career, and he was always focused on enhancing the experience people had with the things he built.
He was very active in his community as well, both locally with his homeschool group and even within the international community. He travelled to Japan with the People to People Student Ambassador Program in 2009, where he learned from and collaborated with students in Japan. In 2010, He lettered in community service in the Eagle Homeschool co-op at 16 with more than 300 hours dedicated to helping others in one year.
In 2010, he entered the young streetcar scene in Reno with his striking white Mitsubishi EVO. You’d find him attending most weekly meet ups — mainly consisting of cars showing up in a flash-mob style in the middle of an unsuspecting parking lot. With his unwavering curiosity and passion to help, he quickly became a favorite among others who attended these meet ups.
In April 2016, he decided to start building his racing business and named it Haliwell Racing. The slogan was very fitting for his company and personality: “0 to racing, real quick.” Even though he didn’t formally put a name to his company until 2016, he spent his entire life dedicated to things that moved fast, loud, and maybe missing a few screws.
During the past few years, he was developing many projects. Two personal projects that were very important to him include “I’m Alive” and “LogViewer.” The first is an application that he built out of compassion for the people he loved — it is dedicated to tracking and finding missing loved ones. The latter was born out of necessity and lack of better options on the market. This application takes diagnostic data exported from a vehicle and provides a graphic view of data — easily surpassing anything existing on the market.
He lived life to the fullest and experienced exhilaration that most of us couldn’t stomach. Simply put, Kenyon approached everything with full speed, full confidence, absolute compassion, and no regrets.
The money raised through this campaign will assist his family with his memorial and any other costs associated with his passing.
