Latest update on Julia: Currently Julia Dykov is in Moscow, in infectious hospital. Doctors propose that the possible reason for her health failure could be brain toxoplasmosis. The prescribed treatment will last for 42 days.

Thank you again for your generosity and prayers! Let’s continue to believe and remember Julia in our prayers for her complete healing and fast recovery. Thanking and praising God for each one of you.

UPDATE from Nikolai Dukov from October 24:

Julia has been transferred to an infectious hospital in Moscow, Russia today. The doctors are checking if she actually had a stroke on top of an infection. Per Nikolai's report, she has started moving her arm and leg as of couple of days ago as well as to answer with YES and NO to questions she is being asked.

The family is very grateful for all the prayer and financial support they have received through the friends and partners of Global Impact Network. Prayer for complete healing would be very appreciated.

October 23 update: The latest update we have received from Nikolai, Julia's husband is that the family has consulted with doctors from hospitals in Bulgaria and last week more tests were ordered by the doctors of the Tokuda hospital in Sofia.

Some of the doctors are of the opinion that Julia does not have tumors, but rather an infection, which is to be treated in an infectious hospital. The doctors will have a clearer picture of how to proceed as soon as the results of the new tests come out this week. The family is waiting to determine how to proceed once the right diagnosis is determined

The campaign for Julia's medical fund has collected enough funds for her treatment. So far 1041.45 levs ($630 USD or approximately 520 Euros)  have been paid to the Military Medical Academy Hospital in Sofia.

THANK YOU to everyone who has generously given through this campaign. No additional funds are needed at this time! Prayers for the family and the doctors working on this case are very welcome and highly appreciated!

2 Corinthians 8:14 "Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal."

This verse became Rhema to my wife and me in 2000 when the Lord spoke to us to give a substantial amount we had received to a family in our church who had a pressing need. We gladly gave the amount which we did not need right then to them to meet their need. Only a few months later we needed 200% of the amount we gave to meet a pressing need for our family. God used people whom we did not even know at the time to meet our need. God's principles are true and they work when we dare to live by them.

The latest update on the medical situation of Julia as reported several hours ago is that the Military hospital in Sofia refused to perform the surgery because of the seriousness of her condition. A private hospital in Sofia has agreed to admit Julia and to have the surgery performed there, however the cost would be double than what the government hospital would have charged the family.

Through the efforts of people in the USA, Bulgaria, Russia and Spain we have been able to raise approximately 4,500 Euros so far. Around 1,000 Euros went to pay for the tests performed at the Military hospital as well as Julia's stay there.

The family needs an additional 2,500 Euros to pay for the surgery at the Tokuda hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria before the end of this week.

if you would like to donate, please see the information in previous posts about the different options available to help. We believe that the resources are available in God's Kingdom and we can help this family in their pressing need right now.

The Dukov family would like to thank everyone who has generously and sacrificially donated for the medical fund of the family. Julia was dismissed earlier today from the Military hospital in Sofia because the doctors have declared that they will not perform the surgery there. Explanation has not been given to the family about this decision.

The family is praying and considering several options:

1. Have the surgery performed at Tokuda hospital for 6,000 Euros and additional radiation treatment for 3,500 Euros. So far we have raised approximately 3,500 Euros. Additional 6,000 Euros are needed as soon as possible. Please see below for different options to donate.

2. Possibly have the surgery in a hospital in Moscow, Russia. A doctor from Moscow is looking at the test results to determine whether Julia can fly back home to Moscow or not.

The family is taking a couple of days to pray and seek God for wisdom and His guidance in this situation.

Alisa Ladygina, a young lady from Russia who first informed us about this urgent need, has initiated a fast for the Nikolai and Julia Dukov family until we see a breakthrough. For regular updates you can like Global Impact Network's Facebook page here.

I just received an update from Nikolai, Julia’s husband. The doctors have decided to not perform the surgery at the Military hospital in Sofia where Julia is currently hospitalized.

The family is looking at options of a surgery either in another hospital in Sofia or in a hospital in Moscow. They are waiting for answers from the other hospitals before they can make a final decision.

Nikolai and Julia need our continuous prayer support as they have to make some major decisions in the next couple of days.

Julia’s surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, October 15. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for her and her family

As of today all the money needed for the surgery has been raised in just a few days and we are very grateful for the generous response of friends from around the world who sacrificially gave to meet this need.

Please continue to pray for Julia as she is facing a very serious surgery tomorrow. Also, it has been reported that the attitude of the doctors and nurses in the hospital where Julia is has been very negative, rude and lacking proper communication with the family.

While this is very typical of a government hospital in Bulgaria 🇧🇬, we believe that everyone should be treated with due respect and such behavior is not acceptable.

We are continuing to raise funds for Julia as she will need to pay for her stay at the hospital as well as for the treatment after the surgery!

Update: Yesterday we raised the initial amount the hospital charged the family for, which was 500 Euros or a little over $650 USD. That amount covered the initial tests the hospital performed to find out what was causing Julia's paralysis and loss of speech. The family had been told that a surgery would be performed today, if they paid the initial bill.

However, this morning the doctors told the family that the surgery will be performed this coming Monday and that it will cost 3,000 Euros or $3,600 USD. For those of you familiar with the medical system in Eastern Europe and especially in Bulgaria, you know that hospitals or doctors can ask for any amount that they decide (there is no fixed amount in the government hospitals) and if the family does not provide the amount, the patient will NOT be treated. This is the sad inheritance from Communism.

After paying for the medical expenses for the tests this morning Julia's family has around 1,000 Euros ($1,200 USD) left toward the surgery expense. By Monday they need to have in their account in Bulgaria additional 2,000 Euros (2,400 USD).

Donations are accepted via bank transfers, credit card and debit card donations (from any country) as well as checks for those living in the USA.

Thank you for praying for the family and for your practical help in this storm they are going through right now.

UPDATE: The doctors have found two tumors on Julia's brain. One is deeply embedded in the brain, so they will not operate on it. The other one will be operated on tomorrow, Thursday, October 11.

Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and financial support. Through your generous gifts we have been able to raise in 1 day $1,000 from friends in Bulgaria, Spain, Russia and USA. This amount will be used to pay for the surgery tomorrow.

More finances are needed for the radio therapy which will start immediately after the surgery to treat the second tumor. Please continue to pray for Julia, Nikolai and the whole family as they continue forward through this time of testing. Pray that the surgery will go well in the morning and that the doctors and nurses at the Military Hospital in Sofia will do their job with excellence.

Julia and her husband, Nikolai, are missionaries from Russia to Bulgaria helping people who are addicted to be set free. They have three young boys ages 4, 6 and 14.

Julia was suddenly paralyzed this week. She is currently in a hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria where they are performing tests to find the root cause for the sudden paralysis. We will share more information with you whenever we know more from the doctors.

As a foreigner in Bulgaria, Julia is not allowed to have medical insurance. God gave her favor with the doctor who accepted her in the hospital; however, she will still have to pay for her stay at the hospital and for all of her tests and procedures. From what we currently know about Julia's condition, a possible surgery may be necessary.

Another missionary family from Russia is currently taking care of the three boys on top of their own three children. They need some financial help, as well, to take care of all six children.

How can you help?

1. Pray for the family of Nikolai and Julia Dukov. They need a miracle! They need peace! They need supernatural provision!

2. Donate. Even a small amount added will make a difference.

You can donate through this campaign or you can donate through Global Impact Network's website (www.globalimpactnetwork.org), which is a partner in this campaign. Donations can be made through credit or debit cards, as well as through bank drafts. Upon clicking "Donate", please choose "Julia's Medical Expenses" from the drop-down menu on our website.
