Watching my children struggle with PTSD for the last 7 years has been incredibly heartbreaking and challenging. After years of therapy and services, they have all made steady progress. However, there are still times when one can be found hiding under a piece of furniture, or in a corner, hands to ears, shaking. They are too afraid to walk into the house or even a room alone. I discovered that they feel the most secure and happy when around animals, particularly dogs. After speaking with their doctor and therapists, it was decided that an emotional support dog would be a good solution. A therapy dog would not only be for emotional comfort, but could enter the house or room ahead of the kids to let them know it's safe to enter. The dog could wake up a child having a nightmares or night terror. He could ease their anxiety and bring down their stress levels. This dog could be life changing to our family and take us to the next level of security and freedom. We will be able to afford all the maintenance required for a dog going forward such as food, vet visits, etc. It's the initial costs which include the price of the pup and E.S.A. training which we would participate in as a family that we are trying raise. Thank you for considering donating towards a therapy dog for the Bee family.
