On July 17th, my 7-year old niece, Lily Boo was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Lily is an active, feisty, and sassy little girl who will have no problem kicking leukemia to the curb! She participates in cheer and karate through Champion Force Athletics. She is level 2 in cheer; she and her team rocked the house when they performed at the Delta Plex Arena in Grand Rapids not too long ago! She also has a yellow belt in karate, a belt in which she tested out and earned while she was sick and had forced her mom into taking her for testing. Whenever I talk to Kim, there is always something new and witty in which Lily has said or done; Lily is the definition of spirit, perseverance, and fire. However, these next 6 months will be a new long hard battle for her, filled with intense chemotherapy treatments. Her 8th birthday is fast approaching and it will be spent & celebrated at the children's hospital; her awesome health care team is already planning a fantastic birthday bash for her. Her first day of 3rd grade will also be spent at the hospital. Within these next 6 months, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year will be a whole new experience for this precious girl. To help her adjust and to be there for her, her family will undoubtedly be taking an extraordinary time off of work. The hospital is also quite far from their home, Lily, her brothers, and sister have a very close bond and they will need to see one another often. I have started this fundraiser to help ease their expenses so that they can spend all the time with Boo as possible. Any financial help will be much appreciated. Love, Thoughts, & Prayers will be a priceless blessing.
