This, along with other effective, efficient, and innovative approaches to difficult issues will aid investigations, decrease response times, and bring collaborative law enforcement training to our region.
Collaborate & Improve Efficiency
• Bill Elder will conservatively manage personnel needs and the budget.
• Bill Elder will ensure the Sheriff’s Office is prepared for and trained in wildland fire mitigation and response with a commitment to the importance he understands the importance of active participation and coordination with the community and local agencies from the start of an incident through the recovery process.
• Bill Elder will provide safe and secure detention and detoxification facilities and staff them with highly trained and well-equipped Deputies and civilians.
• With collaboration of other local law enforcement agencies, Bill Elder will aggressively pursue criminals to keep our entire community safe!
Regional School Safety Program
Bill Elder is committed to the continued development and implementation of training to protect our children. Bill Elder will develop a multi-agency task force whose responsibility will be to assist schools throughout El Paso County with the implementation of this training that:
• Empowers staff through education and training on how to handle critical incidents before emergency responders arrive.
• Assists school staff with site specific assessments to meet their safety and security needs.
• Develops customized emergency plans for a multitude of potential incidents, both natural and human caused.
• Provides on-going training and follow-up with administrators and teachers.
